This project is dedicated to the memory of Srimati Annapoorani Veerappan, who loved chanting Srimad Bhagavad Gita everyday and encouraged others to chant as well. Every day during Navaratri, she chanted the Devi Mahatmiyam.

Born to Sri A.M.M. Murugappa Chettiar and Srimati Valliammai Murugappa, Annapoorani studied in The Good Shepherd Convent and Maharaja College for Women, Thiruvananthapuram (Trivandrum). She was married to Sri R.M. Veerappan, a evolved soul, rooted in spirituality. Together they established a vibrant home that resounded with carnatic music, classical dance and spirituality, filled with the joy of four daughters, a son, and their extended families. Their cherished and invaluable recordings of all the greats of Carnatic music were donated to the Roja Muthiah Library, Chennai.

Tall, beautiful, and perfectly poised, her presence is palpable even today. Annapoorani’s was a life touched with the grace of all her Gurus. She had the divine blessing of celebrating five family generations in her life time.
